There are well over 100 bible verses that speak about having zeal, whether directly or indirectly in your relationship with God and others.
The letter ‘z’ marks the ending of our A-Z with Jesus study and what better word to conclude, “zealous”.
Revelations 3:19 in the NKJV says; “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.” We also read zealous in the ESV however in the NIV it uses the word earnest instead of zealous. I love the message bible for it speaks my language; “The people I love, I call to account—prod and correct and guide so that they’ll live at their best. Up on your feet, then! About face! Run after God!”
I served in the Canadian Armed Forces for several years. I was reservist and trained as a medic. The time I spent there I learned many great life lessons which included discipline, perseverance & yes ‘about face’ which meant to turn direction. So listen to the word of God for it is practical & will help you with your everyday life. “About face & turn your direction to God”!!!
God loves you and He has called you to live your life the best way possible. This is not how much money you make, who you know, what kind of car you drive, the brand of clothes you wear or where you work. Your best is not in the material things of this world nor should not be measured by them. God desires you to live your life with purpose and wants you to do your very best. Living with integrity is an example for living your life the best way possible. Integrity is what you do when nobody’s watching or can see you. It is living before the Almighty, Omniscient God.
Be encouraged brothers & sisters from my heart to yours
(Using the titles of my past 3 years of writing to do so)
Women, this first part of this message is for you. “You are very special and are made uniquely. Proverbs 31 was given to you as a measuring stick not by the comparison of other women but of the God we serve. God is showing you his potential and strength that is placed on the inside of you. You were created with a plan, to live holy & righteous life before God & man. Let this proverbs woman be an example of who you are; from seed to fruit bearing character have zeal & passion for the sanctification of the Holy Spirit’s work in your life.
For you men…all the women in your life are special and need to be treated like so (even if they don’t always deserve it). Encourage them in their walk with God and let them know how proud you are of them. Let them know that they are beautiful; admire them, for all appropriate attention should come from you, shouldn’t it? Adore them & treat them like the proverbs 31 woman, even before she shows the characteristics of one. I love the bible verse that says to call those things into existence as though the already do! (Romans 4:17, scripture that refers to Abraham’s faith journey)
GEM stands for: God first, everyone second & me last.
Have zeal in your love for God with all your heart, mind, strength & soul.
Have zeal to love everyone you meet.
Have zeal in caring for yourself.
When a gemstone is found in the ground, one must clean it & chip away any excess dirt. You are like a gem and God wants you first to have a relationship through His Son Jesus. When you enter into this relationship you receive the love of God, turn from your sinful life & decide to live your life to please and honour Him. You learn that you are created to bring God glory & share your new life in Him with all others. When this glorious transformation happens, the Holy Spirit takes up residence in you & He starts a home improvement project in you.
BE ZEALOUS in the process…it may hurt, you might go through fire & pain; but praise the Lord, this cleansing & purification is life giving & changing…you become more like Him!
Lilac stands for “Live Intentionally, Life abounding in Christ”
Live on purpose for you were created for such. Place your life in the abounding presence & love of our Creator, the Trinity…the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob.
Zealous, energetic living should come from all born again Christians, question is, “is that statement true?” If the definition of zealous is to have a strong support for a person and if you are a Christian than that person should be Jesus, than I would have to say, yes!
Yes to the statement.
Be zealous & repent the above scripture states! The word ‘be’ means to exist. So it’s fair to say that if we live intentionally and if our life abounds in Christ then it is assumed that we are or exist in our zeal! So BE; in Christ and zeal!!!
A-Z with Jesus
Anytime spent reading, studying & meditating on scripture is fuel for your soul! A-Z with Jesus was just that, a snapshot of God, through Jesus and by the Holy Spirit.
We are a triune person for we have spirit, soul & body. Take time to nurture each area equally. Personal conviction: it takes me 1 hour from head to toe in the morning to get ready for work…I only spend 15 minutes in the morning in my devotion & prayer…is this balance? I am seeking the Lord for my personal convictions & praying that He will help me to have balance in my relationship with Him & in all other things!
Listen saints; wherever you are in your walk with the Lord be reminded that He is patient. He wants to hear from you, his desire is to have a personal relationship with you. Be zealous, on fire & radically in love with Him…if you don’t feel it that’s okay it has nothing to do with feelings…it is a CHOICE! So choose wisely.
Names of God
Listen to this amazing song called “Names of God”. I have waited so long to share this with you. If you are dancer & worship with scarves, than this is one for you.
Body Break: Zygote
Human gestation and the Feasts of the Lord have so many similarities. I just wanted to zoom into the ‘zygote’ stage and write what I read in a website regarding the finding in the comparison between the human gestation and the Feasts of the Lord. It’s just cool to say the least!
“Within two to six days, the fertilized egg attaches itself to the wall of the womb and begins to grow.” The Feast of Firstfruits is observed anywhere from two to six days after Passover! The seed or grain that “falls into the ground and dies,” produces a harvest, the firstfruits of which are presented to God.
Z- Z ends the alphabet, z ends our time with A-Z with Jesus but it doesn’t end your quality time with Him. Be zealous in your ongoing relationship with the Risen Lord & Saviour.
E-Energetic, eagerness, enthusiastic…just like you are towards sports games & shopping; give that same attention & attitude towards your daily walk with the Lord.
A-All of us who are Christ followers should lead in the area of zealous living…let the world see Jesus in you!
L-Love God & others…with zealous! Small advice, smile on purpose!
O-Obedience isn’t a choice to take lightly for it’s a way of life in Christ…LOVE & OBEY God and decide to follow His ways. (Are you educated beyond your obedience? In other words do you know what is right but choose to continue to do what is wrong? Take time to evaluate your spirit life…be honest. Pray, seek the Lord and ask for help!)
U-Us…we are a family. Don’t look down at someone because they don’t do what you do or act the same way. Be zealous doesn’t mean that we act the same…unless it’s like JESUS! Us can be defined as the objective form of ‘we’…We belong to the family of God & God said in the beginning, Let US make man into our own image. Just like the trinity; like “us” behave & help one another in their zealous for the things of God.
S-Saved by grace; therefore we have received God’s love & forgiveness. Praise the Lord! He saved us…that is shouting ground! Don’t keep quiet, tell the world your salvation story, point them to the living Jesus & watch God transform and change their lives.
Be Zealous on purpose!!!
feeling or showing strong and energetic support for a person, cause, etc. : filled with zeal.
Romans 12:11 (ESV)
11 Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
Romans 10:2 (ESV)
2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
2 Timothy 2:10 (NIV)
10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
2 Corinthians 12:10 (ESV)
10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
